#Spotlight: Good or bad parts
Plastic components are exposed to a wide variety of environmental conditions in use, which can cause the components to break, crack or exhibit other defects. Selected tests can assist in classifying whether the part is a “good” or a “bad” one. Load tests or benchmark tests can be used to ensure good quality. Even if components show defects in later use, there are always ways and means to find out what the problem was.
Objectives: The simulation of environmental influences on plastic components is a broad field. Examples will be used to give an overview of which methods are possible. Comparative tests can provide information on which components are “good” and which are “bad”. Analytical tests can be used to identify causes of failure.
Target group: Quality assurance staff, project developers and quality assurance staff, laboratory staff.
